Authentic U.S. Navy Rifle Model 1870 Ames Mfg Co. USN Sword Bayonet For Sale

Authentic U.S. Navy Rifle Model 1870 Bayonet. Measures approx. 24.75" overall with a blade length of 20". Straight blade, fullered, smooth throughout with no chips on edges, metal shows some age patina, wear, use, and some very tiny scattered pin-prick pitting. Handle/blade wiggles slightly. The ricasso is stamped, "U.S.N. C.G.S. 1870" opposite side is stamped, "AMES MFG. CO CHICOPEE". Left side of guard is stamped, "S", Top of handle is stamped, "CGS" and Bird head pommel is stamped, "I.A.", pommel end also has the Board of Naval Ordnance Monogram cast into it on both sides.
