This reliquary is complete and is sealed with a rivet andthe red wax seal of a Bishop on the back.
There is no “authentic” that comes with the reliquary.The cross was gifted to my mother by a Franciscan monk over 60 years ago on apilgrimage to the Holy land. She was told it was made for travelers to the Holyland during the 18th century who would collect relics from the Catacombs ofRome, later to be sealed for private devotion.
We have no idea what relics were placed inside then, orif any remain after the passage of time. We are offering the cross to it\'s nextcaretaker as seen in the posted pictures.
The Reliquary is 2 inches long, 1/4 inch thick and ismade of hand crafted silver and weighs 28 grams.
