Bill Clinton Signed T-Shirt from 1997 Charity Event w/ Provenance
The paragraph below is from the Organ-ize the Planet Website (they still are active in raising money and awareness... Could this be THE Shirt mentioned below ???? In early January of 1997, Delaney\'s dad, Mike Corbitt, contacted the local United Network of Organ Sharing representative for San Francisco Bay Area in hopes of doing something positive for organ donation while waiting for a donor for his daughter. Mike was put in touch with Carolyn Johnson who happened to be going down to Redwood City to talk with Jeff Shapiro, organizer of \"The Relay\", a 12 person team relay race stretching 199 miles from the Napa Valley area to Santa Cruz Beach. Carolyn brought Mike along to the meeting and it wasn\'t long before Mike and Jeff began mapping out a plan. Mike recruited several members of his large extended family to run in the race as \"Team Delaney\" and Jeff decided to dedicate the race to Delaney as well. As fate would have it, the call came for Delaney\'s kidney just 2 weeks before the race. Delaney had just received a kidney from a 7 year old girl named Alexandria Cotti, who was fatally struck by a car outside her home in Hollister, CA. President Clinton happened to be at the hospital the day of the race and signed a \"Team Delaney\" shirt which Mike then put on and finished the last leg of the 199 mile race in Santa Cruz, with the sun setting, his family surrounding him, and most importantly, his 3 year old daughter resting comfortably with a new kidney and a new chance at life.
Very good condition... no stains or tears
