Blue Kyanite-Blade-Natural-Kyanite, Large Kyanite-Brazilian-3.5Kg:
$381.96

This Beautiful Specimen Kyanite is an uncommon mineral that often bears a deep blue hue. The mineral is used industrially in the production of refractory materials for kilns and foundries (refractory materials can absorb a lot of heat and still maintain their strength). It is also used in ceramics, abrasives, and some electronics. Transparent, brilliantly-colored kyanites may be carved into gemstones, and particularly striking crystal specimens are valued by collectors.
Origin- Brazilian
Weight-3543 grams
Dimension-25 cm x 14 cm x 9 cmBlue kyanite is said to be what the legendary sword used by Archangel Michael was made from. Ancient Greek seafarers wore kyanite as an amulet because it was believed that Poseidon used it to travel to Earth and assist them. More recently, artist Nemanja Nikolic is said to have used kyanite in her paintings.Blue kyanite is preferable to other colours, especially when it has a uniform dark blue colour. Additionally, transparent specimens are preferable to cloudy ones. Visible inclusions are common but should not interfere with the attractiveness of the cut and color. While kyanite is frequently used to imitate sapphire, glass and quartz can be used to imitate this stone. Authentic kyanite has a hardness that differs by the direction the stone is tested. Imitations may be perfectly uniform or contain tiny bubbles.Kyanite occurs in gneiss, schist, pegmatite, and quartz veins resulting from high pressure regional metamorphism of principally pelitic rocks. It occurs as detrital grains in sedimentary rocks. It occurs associated with staurolite, andalusite, sillimanite, talc, hornblende, gedrite, mullite and corundum. Kyanite occurs in Manhattan schist, formed under extreme pressure as a result of the two landmasses that formed supercontinent Pangaea.Kyanite is a rare find, be quick it won\'t be on the shelf for long.Opening the throat chakra this crystal enhances self expression & communication.Expands your consciousness creating new opportunities in life.Excellent for attunement & meditation, stimulating psychic abilities & intuition. This crystal connects with spirit guides & instils compassion.
