An Original Civil War General Order issued at HQ Dept of the Gulf, New Orleans, Louisiana, May 5th, 1865 announcing that the right of parole and return of the soldiers and officers of the Army which have surrendered to the authorities of the United States, but does not attach to persons in civil life.
