Perfect as a centerpiece, home icon, church display, orwherever you want, these life-size crowns are made from high quality, wildHoney Locust (Gleditsia triacanthos), a beautiful tree native to the Midwestand Southeast of the USA.
I have a small number in stock, readymade, and will makemore upon request/orders placed. Ascrafted, handmade pieces, each crown is unique and may differ from those in thephotos. Most measure 10-12" longand 6-8" wide, approximating the size of a human head; you can surelyimagine the pain the soldiers must have inflicted. I construct the crowns from “green”, undriedbranches, so some light cracking and aging is normal as they dry out overtime. Hot glue is discreetly and judiciouslyused at times to ensure they stay together during shipping and for a long time.
These crowns have NOT been blessed (since, of course, I amselling them new), but you should have a priest or deacon bless them when youare able. It is always a good idea tohave an object intended for sacred use to be exorcised and blessed by apostolicclergy to make it a sacramental. In thatway, God intends to purify items for sacred use - and to impart His gracethrough them, when used devoutly. Theyare an aid to worshipping God Himself.
Remember: Sacramentals are never talismans, charms, magic,etc. They themselves will not saveyou. However, the Holy Trinity wants togive you divine power when you meditate and reflect on the truths of our faithand the love of God, such as Jesus suffering for YOU with a crown ofthorns. And so, they are very useful toconverting our souls daily and this in turn leads us closer to God and furthersafeguarded from the Devil.
Although beautiful - and this may seem obvious - please usecaution when handling!!! These are fairlymassive and strong thorns, often several inches long. Move slowly, keep well away from face andeyes, preferably handle with thick leather gloves, and of course, keep them outof reach of children and animals.
