Chinese Soapstone? Carved Miniature Pumpkin Teapot Leaves Vine 5\" Long For Sale

I think this is soapstone, but this is not an area I\'m familiar with, so please ask questions if you have any. Pretty multicolor material - greenish tan, orange, and tiny amounts of red. Based on similar items, I think that it is probably Chinese, but it has no marks, so I can\'t be certain. Carved vine handle and lid top. Measures about 5.2 in long x 3.5 in wide x 3.8 in tall. There is a small gouge that I\'m not certain is from the original carving or not (see photos).
