Civil War Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Musket Socket Bayonet For Sale

Civil War Model 1854 Lorenz Musket Socket Bayonet. Unusual bayonet blade with diagonal mortise cut., Bayonet measures 22.25" OAL, with a blade length of 19" with a inside diameter of socket at .755". Has the clasp ring and screw, cartouche stamps on the elbow, left side of starburst in a circle. Used for the 13.9mm (.54 Cal) Model 1854 Lorenz Rifle, and also used on the M1854/67 Wanzi breech loading conversions. Unusual helical mortise and flattened cruciform blade. The Lorenz rifles were used extensively by the North and South during the Civil War, 225k in the North, and up to 100k by the Confederacy. This one is in very good condition showing much of it's original finish (over 85%) and showing some age patina, wear, use. See photos for further details.
