The World\'s Columbian Expo was held in Chicago in 1893. This is a set of cards produced by Enterprise manufacturing company - each card has a poem about some historical event with a cartoonish drawing depicting the event. The cards also have a scene from the World\'s Fair at the bottom. These are all different. The back of each card advertises a product made by Enterprise.Among the historical people/events shown are Battle of Bunker Hill, Peter Stuyvesant, Lincoln, William Penn, Boston Tea Party, Andrew Jackson, Queen Elizabeth, Continental soldiers, 4th of July, American Indians, Treaty of Paris, Pilgrims, Horace Greeley.The gem of the collection is a card showing Uncle Sam, Miss Columbia sharing products with the world in front of the skyline of the exposition (it is a hard card to find).
It is also hard to put together a complete set, but here it is! All cards are in at least very good condition.My inventory - WCE lot - Book 1A
