The "Eyes to Heaven" bust represents a rare and significant type, marking one of the earliest and most renowned Christian coins. In line with the description by his contemporary biographer Bishop Eusebius, Constantine's portrayal reflects a profound connection to his divinely inspired faith. Eusebius noted, "The great strength of the divinely inspired faith fixed in his soul might be deduced by considering also the fact that he had his own portrait so depicted…that he appeared to look upwards in the manner of one reaching out to God in prayer." This distinctive coin type was minted between 327-29 at the Heraclea mint. Skilled artisans from Ticinium, known for their early embrace of Christian imagery, were involved.
