E C Simmons Keen Kutter Salesman Sample Embossed Hatchet Head - Wrote Out & Logo For Sale

This is a rare E. C. Simmons Keen Kutter salesman sample embossed hatchet head. One side has the E. C. Simmons Keen Kutter logo and the other side has the words Keen Kutter written out. The salesman carried this sample with him and then the hardware store manager could decide if he wanted to purchase hatchets with the logo on them or simply Keen Kutter written on them. The sample measures 4 7/8\" from top to bottom with a cutting edge of 3\". On the side with the embossed logo you can still see the original red paint still visible. It does have an owner\'s initial of E. L. H. on the written out side under the Made in USA. This is a very rare hard to find item. I only have seen four of these in the Keen Kutter and of that four I have three - the one in my collection to keep, this one which is very nice, and one listed in a different sale on that has some pitting on it.
