Super RARE to find both male and female together. I saw on one dealer of Fine Estate Porcelain website that only 50 of the female Macaw were made. The male I found a picture of in a book about Edward Marshall Boehm and his aviary which he kept to study birds for his sculptures.
From a luxury Dallas estate with ties to the Firestone family. The lady these belonged to married the Firestone heir in the late 50’s. Mary Alice Firestone. He gave her a 26 carat diamond ring. Her painted portrait was at the sale wearing the ring. It was an amazing sale to attend. She, Mary Alice, photographed and documented most of her possessions. Anyway, these were more than likely from the time they were married. From poking around on the internet I believe that her heir who lives in Dallas inherited these items. That is how I believe these items wound up in Dallas. There are pictures of Mary Alice and Russell Firestone on the internet.
Male measures approximately 8.25” tall x 7.5” wide.
Female measures approximately 7.5 tall x 7” wide.
No damage found. No chips cracks or repairs found. They are both in wonderful condition. Examined under a bright light.
Also, I forgot to add that both markings of the “Boehm” name are clear and complete as seen in the photos.
All photos are part of the description so please look at them carefully.
Thanks for looking!
