From the RAMBAUT family collection of items I am currently selling... this chap Bertrand Ramsey Robson Rambaut was a Major in the Royal Artillery and the family were from Baythorne Park in Essex as well as Templeville Killiney in Ireland and other residences along the way... their items span many years from early Georgian thru the Victorian period and to just after the second world war.... they were related to the Robson - Tuke - Lightowler - Hautenville families along the way.. so please do check out my other listings as Ive got TONS of their items.. Bertrand Rambaut was always sending items home whilst on his military campaigns and I have boxes and boxes of interesting items listed ..many with little green lables with the find spots or who gave them the items and dated etc.. really fascinating.
This is an antique lizard figurine that has been handmade by a Turkish prisoner of war in WWI.
The lizard is made from a canvas type material that has been stuffed and then a micro glass beads sewn onto the outside.
It also has metal pins in it giving the lizard shape to its legs and tail.
It has a collector\'s inventory green tag on it which reads \"Stephen from Daddy sent from Egypt. Work of Turkish Prisoners of War 1914-18\"...their collection number 190 on tail.
It is in good collectable condition with some signs of age and use wear.
Doesn\'t look like any of the beadwork has come loose. There are a few stains here and there and some discolouration from age.
The lizard measures approx. 75mm tall and approx. 126mm long.
5 inch long x 3/4 inch wide x 3 inch tall.
