Item 484230 ◊ Four (4) Assorted Antique Tintype Photos, Women, Men, Building 1860s-1920s

A rare and original "Four (4) Assorted Antique Tintype Photos, Women, Men, Building 1860s-1920s."  The photos measure different sizes, but are mainly smallish.  They are all somewhat dark, as is typical of the time.

Here are a few specific notes about each photo:

Photo 1: It has a date on the back that says, "1922."  Tintypes were made even into the 1900s and were sold at carnivals, fairs, and tourist attractions.  This one is in a cardboard, silver-gilt frame and the photo measures 2-3/8" x 1-3/4".  The subject is a man, and it is in very good condition.

Photo 2: (going counter-clockwise): It is a photo of a house with a big front porch.  Most tintypes were taken of people, but not commonly of buildings.  It measures 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" … a typical sixth-plate size.  It is quite dark, but the photo is in excellent condition.

Photo 3: Shows a man, who appears to be wearing a uniform and maybe a cap … not military.   But we can't speculate what type it is.   Although not cut straight, the photo measures about 3-1/2" x 2-1/2".  It has some oxidation around the edges, but the photo is clear and in excellent condition.

Photo 4: Shows a young woman.  The type of clothes she is wearing is suggestive of the 1860s.  The photo measures about 3-5/8" x 2-1/2". And there is some oxidation on the plate including a bit on her face.*

Please see all of the photos above to confirm the contents and condition of these tintype photos.

Very unique and moving, "Four (4) Assorted Antique Tintype Photos, Women, Men, Building 1860s-1920s," and a fantastic addition to any history buff or collector of early photos.
