Fire Mark Early Royal Insurance Company Copper Shield Plaque #891 10"x12" : $249.95
Fire Mark Early Royal Insurance Company Copper Shield Plaque #891 10"x12" Crown on top, ROYAL in the middle banner, with a liver bird in the bottom point. 1845-1900 would be the approximate timeline. Made of copper. Originally the crown and bird were gold on a green ground, and the ROYAL in gold on a red ground. Has been stripped to the copper. According to the label on the back of the mounting - 'This mark was covered with house paint and the prior removed almost all of the color. Carl Buergen paid $80 for this mark at the St. Louis Convention of the Fire Circle of the Americas held on October 1, 1982.'
