The posterwas first usedto recruit people for Gay Liberation Front meetings held in Greenwich Village, New York shortly after theStonewall Riots\' in 1969. Features Negrin\'sdesign incorporating a vibrant psychedelic mandala motif andbearing the words \"Let Go,\" (designed by Bevier). The posterwas offered for sale for one dollar through the pages of Come Out!, an LGBTnewspaper published by the GLF. Measures 8 1/2\" x 11\" inches.We have searched the last 20 years of online sales history databases and academic holndingsand were only able to find twoother examples of this poster design. Rare.

The GLF quickly expanded across the U.S. and internationally, transforming the course of LGBTQ communities and American politics by changing the terms of LGBTQ struggles from equality to liberation.The GLF is considered by most to be the most impactfulLGBTQ civil rights organization in history.Countlessfuture organizations were formed by its members including the Gay Activists Alliance (GAA), Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) ACT UP, the Lesbian Avengers, Queer Nation, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and the Radical Radishes, among others.
