Stunning Victorian opalescent glass was once clear opalescent! A chemical in the glass called manganese reacts with uv light & caused the glass to turn purple. This opalescent hobnail celery vase is a light lavender opalescent now do to the \"sun purple\" irradiated glass! Created by Hobbs Brockunier & Co this vase was designed to hold celery on the Victorian table setting. Now it is a perfect vase. Due to the color change, this piece is quite rare.
** 4 hobnails are broke off at the very bottom row. 1 still there in between is chipped. Pictured from multiple angles.
