Thisexquisite, vintage Kachina doll was carved around 1976 by the legendary HenryShelton, truly one of the Founding Fathers of modern Kachina doll carving. Henrypassed away a few years ago, and this doll represents a rare and irreplaceableexample of his work. Henry\'s work dates from the late 1940’s, where he developedhis skills and talents at the Museum of Northern Arizona. Henry wasinstrumental in creating and popularizing the Late Action Style. The way thatKachina dolls look today is in part because of the brilliance and talent ofthis wonderful man. This beautiful example of his work, in PERFECT conditiondespite being 45 years old, stands 14 inches tall to the tip of his feathers anddisplays his artistry in it’s creative maturity. The figure is carved with aself-confidence and dignity which can only be described as classic.
