Presented today is this incredible Hopi Kachina doll, depicting the Hano Mana Kachina. This beautifully dramatic example,standing 32 inches tall, was carved by the talented and respectedcarver, Martin Dallas, of Moencopi. Martin carves with a with a sensitivevitality, and his work is always reverent and sincere. The incredible doll comes from a large piece of Cottonwood root that i found in Big Bug Creek, and gave to him as a gift. This doll was too big to photograph in my studio, and i had to move it out to my back yard.
