DESCRIPTIONAND CONDITION
Up for sale is a Native American Hopi sterling silver Bolo bootlace tie. It has an etched figure design of a Kokopelli symbol. The Kokopelli symbol portrays an insect-like spirit, or máhu depicted as a hunchbacked grasshopper who is playing a wooden flute. The symbol represents spiritual and physical healing, love, music, and the healing powers of music. It measures about 2” long. The width is about 7/8” across the lower part and 1 3/8” across the top. It is marked with Harold Lomayaktewa a Hopi silversmith mark. His uncle Leroy Kewanwytewa also used the hallmark.
