LATE 1800S VICTORIAN MUSIC BOX PHOTO ALBUM/WORKING N SOME ORIGINAL PHOTOS:
$195.00

Absolutely stunning and beautiful Victorian working music box photo album. The picture on the top depicts a mother and two children. They look very angelic and are beautiful. This cover pic is in very good condition and the colors are excellent considering the age of this piece. This brass hardware shows age related minor wear and has a nice patina. This latch is also very ornate and the letter S in the middle. The music box works and plays the song, The Honeysuckle And The Bee. This is the 1st song and the 2nd is Under Fire March. There is a hand written insert on the last page. It appears to be the type of movement and perhaps a service date. There is a total of nine original photos and all are in very good condition with the exception of one small which is kind of difficult to see the image. The cloth cover shows age related wear with some fading. It depicts a flora pattern . The color is a faded maroon and a softer color of the actual pattern . As you can see from the pictures it will need in my opinion, minor restorations. By this I mean the binding and I would leave the rest as is but that’s up to the buyer. The photo’s included are outstanding particularly the men fishing and group photo of the men outside of what is most likely a factory. The measurements are 12 1/2 ins wide, the height is 4 1/4 , the depth is 9 1/2 ins making it a large album. These we’re normally placed on a buffet table in the front parlor room. Believe me , it would make quite a statement displayed in such a room. I’ve decried this piece to the best of my knowledge but I’m sure there is someone out there who knows more regarding its history as well as what the letter S means. Im curious to perhaps think it might represent a family last name. Please look at all the pictures as part of the description and questions as well as local pickup are welcome!
