This sturdy, lightweight torso armour, also known as abrigandineis crafted from 2 mm thick vegetable-tanned leather. The chest and shoulders are reinforced with 2 mm thick leather pads or plates, each securely fastened with four antiqued brass rivets. The material and particular construction do not only afford a greater degree of mobility than the metalcoat of platesorscale armour, but also add great visual appeal to the piece.
