Montblanc No. 32 Fountain Pen 14K Gold, Fine Nib Serviced For Sale

In 1959, the Montblanc line up was redesigned by Albrecht von Goertz. Goertz famously designed the BMW 507 and had a hand in designing the Toyota 2000GT and Datsun 240z. All three-digit pens (142, 144, 146) except the 149 were discontinued. The new line up was slimmer and fitted with a new “butterfly” of \"intarsia\" nib. The pens were segmented into three tiers Meisterstuck, Medium Range and Economy. The pens came in two sizes. Pens ending in “2” were smaller in size while pens ending in “4” were larger.This No. 32 is in the Economy tier. Despite being \"Economy\" this tier is well made and a smooth writer. It was initially offered with a 10 year warranty. The main difference between the No. 32/34 tier the two upper tiers is the use of the \"intarsia\" nib versus the \"butterfly\" nib. The intarsia is an inlaid nib. Nibs were mostly 14k gold. There is an early example of the No. 32/34 offered with a \"butterfly\" nib. The blue ink window doubles as the threads for the cap to screw on to.This pen is in (C) Good condition.This pen has been serviced by our pen repair team. The piston unit has been lubricated to Montblanc specs to ensure proper filling action. Serviced pens come with a 90-Day Warranty against any workmanship defects.
