Simmons KEEN KUTTERBroad Head Hewing Axe/Hatchet.There are \"NO\" chips or nicks on the cutting edge at all (see pics). The poll end of the axe head has some hammer marks on it. Along with some slight mushrooming and chips along the edge of the poll/butt end of the axe head (see pics). The makers mark: \"E.C. Simmons KEEN KUTTER\" and \"CUTLERY TOOLS\" is by far the best KEEN KUTTER stamping I have ever had period. This stamping is DEEP and SUPER CLEAR (see pics). The axe head is securely mounted to what could be the original wooden handle?? And the handle looks to be in \'VERY NICE CONDITION\" with just a piece/sliver of wood missing at the very end of the handle. And the handle also looks and feels like it was sanded down around that area too. (see pics).Also the whole handle has been sanded down to a nice smooth finish (see pics).The axe head does have some minor scrapes, scratches, ding marks and very light pitting too (see all pics). The total length of the axe head and handle is 15-1/2\" long. The axe head is almost 5-3/4\" long, with a 4\" wide cutting edge.
