Norris of London A5 Dovetail Smoothing Plane.
This A5 has a blade that is 2 1/4” wide. Measures 9 1/2” in total length.
This plane was bought by me in Needham Market, England in Roy Arnolds tool shop, decades ago. I was attending the IBTC in Lowestoft at the time, and would occasionally mosey down to Roy’s to see what he had for sale. To my shock, he had acquired a row of Norris planes for sale, including this A5. I just couldn’t believe it, they were all so beautiful. So, I purchased this A5 and another plane which you will find on my page as well.
As far as condition goes, I don’t know where else you would go from here. It is not perfect, but how many perfect A5’s are there really out there? This would be an outstanding plane in any collection. After looking at the pictures, this plane is better than the pictures depict
