ORIGINAL 1917-1918 LOOK AFTER MY FOLKS NAVY RELIEF SOCIETY WWI POSTER NEW YORK:
$650.00

Original 1917-1918 produced World War Iposter by the title \'Look After My Folks NAVY RELIEF SOCIETY OFFICIAL RELIEF ORGANIZATION OF THE U.S. NAVY CARES FOR THE NAVY\'S WIDOWS AND ORPHANS SUSCRIPTIONS RECEIVED BY ANY BANK OR The Emergency Fund Committee 280 Broadway New York City.\'

The poster depictinga Naval war scene with sailors abandoning ship was printed utilizing the color lithographic process from artwork done by English artistFrank Brangwyn (1867-1956)and printed by The American Lithographic Co. of N.Y.Approximate poster dimensions are 41\"h x 28\"w.

This poster is offered unmounted and unbacked having been stored rolled up for many years. The poster is in fine over-all condition. The colors in the poster have been well preserved and are fresh in appearance due to having been rolled up for so many years. There are no stains or areas of discoloration which is amazing considering the poster was produced 100 years ago.

Condition issues includea 1\" edge tearat thebottomand some slight surface wrinkles at the bottom edge center, a 1.5\" edge tear on thelower left side near the corner, some surface wrinkles running verticallynear the center of the text legend (otherwise, no surface wrinkles), and some small creases on the upper left corner border edge including a 1\" and 1.5\" soft surface crease.

In my opinion based on the criteria for grading posters as used by Gary Borkan in his book \'World War I Posters\' this poster would be infine or bettercondition.

This poster is an original World War I poster of the period and is not a later copy, is not a re-issue and is not a reproduction. This poster has never been offered for sale before this time as it had been part of a collection put together quite a long time ago.

The poster is in the condition as it was found having been stored away. I have not repaired, restored or tampered with the poster in any way.

On some computer monitors the images seen in the listing may appear to show the colors of the poster to be muted or there may be a shine seen which is a reflection from either the camera flash or light but in actuality the colors of the poster are of even tonality.

For ultimate protection and preservation in shipment the poster has been placed between preservations sheets of neutral ph transparent glassine, rolled up and placed in a high quality protective Yazoo Mills shipping tube. For easy take-out from the shipping tube a plastic bag has been used to wrap around the glassine protected poster enabling it to slide out easily from the tube. Please be assured that I package as carefully and securely as possible so you will receive the poster in the condition as described in the listing. Buyer to add $17.75 to cover the cost of packaging materials and shipping within the U.S.
