Originalvintage issue of the December 24, 1938 issue of Wild WestWeekly,a large-format western-themed pulp magazine published by theAmalgamated Press, London.The magazine measures 12½" x9½" and has 28 pages. The bold colorful photogravure artwork on thefront cover is unsigned, but was likely painted by noted illustratorDerek Charles Eyles, who did many covers for the magazine.The artwork illustrates a scene from "The Trail of the Ten-InchCowboys,"one of thestories in the issue.Other stories include "Ride That Rocket!" "The Wild West Wangler,""You Can't Shoot Bullets With a Bow," "The Men of Harlech March Again,""Hop-Talk Lends a Helping Hand,"and "Smash Those Smugglers!""Rod Mason's Round-the-World Trail" is the only story with a namedauthor:&nbsp:E.R. Home-Gall, more formally known as Edward Reginald Home-Gall. Hewas one of the most prolific of all authors for pulp magazines likeWild West Weekly, although most of his oeuvre is inthe science-fiction field.This issue of Wild West is identified as VolumeOne, Number 43. It was printed by the SunEngraving Company and is an excellent example of the pre-WW2 pulpfiction magazines that focusedon the American West ofthe 19th and early 20th century.It is also a hard-to-find magazine, having ceased operation after only50issues.It was published in Englandby the Amalgamated Press, Ltd., The Fleetway House, Farringdon Street,London, E.C. 4, from March 12, 1938 to February 18, 1939.Condition: This issue of Wild West Weeklyis in very good, lightly used condition, complete and intact.The staples at the center fold have rusted a wee bit and there's someminor edge wear.
