Up for sale is this original French Gras bayonet. This Franco Prussian War era bayonet has matching numbers with the scabbard. The blade is inscribed with the date 1875. There is some obvious surface pitting on the blade, the mortise button works and the guard is tight. The blade measures approximately 20.5”, the bayonet measures approximately 25-3/8” overall and 26” when sheathed. Overall very good condition for this nearly 150 year old piece.
