Owen Spirit Painting- beautiful illusion and exceedingly rare For Sale

A rare and captivating illusion that very few people have ever seen, magicians included. A shadow box is shown unmistakenly empty. A blank artist canvas is slid across the open front of the box. A large light bulb is turned on and held at the back of the cabinet, illuminating the blank canvas. The performer reaches inside the cabinet between the bulb and canvas and the silhouette of his hand can be seen through the illuminated canvas, further proving the absence of trickery inside. The performer removes his hand from the cabinet and a picture starts to materialize on the canvas. Slowly at first, and then becoming clearer until a painting or any graphic you desire has completely materialized on the canvas. The traditional performance with this prop is to have a number of blank canvases displayed, a spectator selects one and initials it. A number of portraits are then displayed, either famous works of art or known public figures. The spectator selects one and that art work then slowly materializes on the blank, signed canvas for the spectator to take as a souvenir. This prop was beautifully made by Owen Magic specifically for Harry Anderson. It was completed just before Hurricane Katrina closed Harry’s club in New Orleans and he never took possession of the prop. I bought it directly from Alan Zagorsky of Owen Magic and have used the prop in my show for several years. It never fails to get comments after the show. It is a most unusual and magical illusion that is different from the usual productions, vanishes, etc. in a magic show. The canvas is 16”x20”, overall height of prop 58 inches.
