PITTSBURGH LAMP, REVERSE PAINTED SCENIC MOON AND LAKE SCENIC, OUTSTANDING COLORS:
$2495.00

For sale is a beautiful reverse painted table lamp made by The Pittsburgh Lamp and Brass Company of Pittsburgh, PA. This table lamp is a scenic reverse and obverse painted table lamp. The table lamp is desk or end table size stands 21 1/2\" tall to the top of the finial and the shade has a diameter of 16\". The base has a diameter of 7 3/4\".

The shade displays a very vibrant and colorful landscape scene of what collectors call a \"Midnight Lake Scenic\" reverse painted table lamp. This is set on a glue chip or chipped ice shade blank. The colors are just wonderful as there is beautiful light purples and gray for the evening sky. The trees and shoreline along the lake show all the other colors that are natural with nature such as rust, yellows, greens, browns, and lots of blue throughout for the lake. The scenic appears to be a late evening scene with the moon high in the sky reflecting off the lake and trees. You can even see the reflection of the moon on the water. You can see bushes, lakes, and shoreline and a very realistic 3 dimensional view. The painting is done on the \"obverse\" front side and \"reverse\" on the inside. The tall trees are painted on the outside of the shade. This is one of Pittsburgh Lamp\'s most desirable and highly collected reverse painted lamps.

The shade sits on a 2 light, mixed metal base with an excellent patina. The style of the vase is what I believe to be an \"Artichoke\" but some call it an \"Arrowroot\". The design on the foot\'s outer edges as well as the leaves at the top of the column just below the cluster tell me this. There are two original ball pull chain sockets that are in excellent working order. The patina is done in Tiffany style verdi mottled green and considered to be in excellent condition with minor wear.

This table lamp is in excellent condition. The condition of the shade and base is outstanding for nearly 85 years of use. I see no missing paint on the shade, actually the best example of this lamp I have ever seen. You simply do not find lamps in this condition with any frequency. Everything is original except for the antique style black rayon cord, even the plug is original. The lamp has been professionally rewired and both socket pull chains are in good working order. This lamp has both its original sockets in it. The shade has no chips or dings and the base shows very minor wear. The lamp has no signature on it but it is a well documented Pittsburgh table lamp 100% and not a marriage!! This lamp was made circa 1920-1925.

Purchase with confidence as these reverse painted lamps are much more affordable than Handel and Pairpoint lamps. These lamps have been a worthy investment that has risen steadily for the past 30 years. I\'m quite sure the buyer will be well pleased with their purchase.

This lamp will have to be shipped in 2 boxes the base in one and the base in another.
