This radio has buildin speakers but you can hook up extra speakers ( 4 to 8 Ohm ) then you can use this radio as intercom . Place the speakers anywhere you like in your house and you can speak through the radio to the speakers. This is really wonderfull on this radio .
Also can music be played to those speakers , and it still has more possibilitys which can be used by the extra pushbuttons: Livingroom , music 1 , intercom , intercom 2 , volume room 1 volume room 2 , stereo /mono , Exspanted stereo , AFC . This radio has also buildin speakers , you don’t have to hook up extra speakers to hear the radio, its an option to hook up extra speakers .
This is a quality radio and was top of the line of the Philips factory.
