It is always fascinating when two Keokuk geodes that formed next to each other have different crystal habits inside. One geode has sharp pink dogtooth calcite crystals, the other has clear over pink calcite towers and an area of white dogtooth calcite where kaolinite was ingested in the calcite crystals. There are two quartz crystal lined halves attached to them as well as the photo shows. This beauty was found in Adams County, Illinois.
