• About Zuni Pueblo:\"Traditional Zuni designs include water symbols such as tadpoles, frogs, dragonflies and the Zuni “rain bird,” as well as flower rosettes and deer with heartlines. Traditional forms include the stepped-edge cornmeal bowl (also known as cloud or prayer bowls), bird effigies and vessels in such forms. Sculptural appliqué is a common feature in traditional and contemporary work.\"
• About Christian Rub:\"Christian Rub(April 13, 1886 – April 14, 1956) was known as acharacter actorfrom the late 1910s to the early 1950s, and was featured in more than 100 movies, often uncredited. He was born inPassau,Bavaria,Germany. His first appearance was in the movieThe Belle of New York. Rub was the visual basis and voice ofMister Geppettoin the animated Disney filmPinocchio(1940), Rub appeared in his last movie,Something for the Birds, as Leo.\"
• About Joseph Henry Sharp:\"Joseph Henry Sharp(27 September 1859 – 29 August 1953) was an American painter and a founding member of theTaos Society of Artists, of which he is considered the \"Spiritual Father\".Sharp was one of the earliest European-American artists to visitTaos, New Mexico, which he saw in 1893 withJohn Hauserwhen he visited in 1893. He paintedAmerican Indianportraits and cultural life, as well as Western landscapes. PresidentTheodore Rooseveltcommissioned him to paint the portraits of 200 Native American warriors who survived theBattle of the Little Bighorn. While working on this project, Sharp lived on land of theCrow Agency,Montana, where he built Absarokee Hut in 1905. Boosted by his sale of 80 paintings to Phoebe Hearst, Sharp quit teaching and began to paint full-time.In 1909 he bought a former chapel in Taos to use as a studio, near the house of the artistE. Irving Couse. In 1912 he and his wife moved to the area full-time. He built a house with studio near the chapel.
