The double action ringer is the standard in the North American locomotive industry for reliability & performance. The clapper is designed to strike the bell on a continuous or intermittent basis as controlled by the operator...ringing either manually or set for air pressure. This brass bell has been mounted into a unique antique sewing machine stand that is has a solid oak top & also a bottom oak shelf...definitely a ONE-OF-A-KIND for the person who wants the unusual & eclectic! It has a beautiful loud tone & I could just see this unit out by a cabin calling everyone to a dinner table! The bell itself has a bottom flare diameter of 12\" & it measures approx. 11-1/2\" tall & the heavy brass seems to be approx. 1\" thick. The complete stand measures approx. 29\" wide x 17\" deep x 29\" high.
