"Ever After," an Art Deco signed musical BACCARAT perfume bottle for PAQUIN, circa 40s - 50s, in clear Baccarat crystal, with label, in elaborate bell-shaped wicker cage with rotating music box base. Plays “La Vie en Rose.”
The House of Paquin closed in the early ‘60s so finding examples of their fragrances is very rare. This particularly impossible-to-find vintage musical perfume creation plays "La Vie en Rose," as the bottle on the base revolves.
Condition: The original felt lining is in good condition, with some dust settled onto it. Wicker cage in excellent condition with no nicks or breakages that I can see. Bottle is Stenciled “BOTTLE - BACCARAT - FRANCE - MADE IN FRANCE.”
Bottle height is approx 3".
This was acquired from a private estate sale in New Orleans, La. Bottle contains a portion of the perfume (see photos); I have not opened the bottle.
Similar item sold for $529 in 2004 at an sale House (source: Worthpoint - see photos)!
I believe this item was in production from 1939-1952.
