Quite simply the best condition I\'ve ever seen one of these, but it\'s missing the little gold colored device at the end of the rope.A nice example of a scarce original WWI U.S. Marine Corps Miniature French Fourragere Medal. These mini Fourrageres were mailed to Marine Corps veterans (along with a full-size fourragere and an award card) in 1920. To qualify for this award, the Marine had to have served with the 4th Brigade, 2nd Division in at least 2 major engagements for which the unit was cited in the General Orders of the French Army. Originally intended for wear with civilian attire, veterans attached these mini badges to their uniforms and medals (Disitinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Silver Star, Purple Heart and Victory Medals). The Fourragere is green and red - the colors of the French Croix de Guerre. A scarce example of a hard to find award!Buy from us with confidence.
