TOTALLY RESTORED & TUNED STANLEY SWEETHEART No.5-1/2 TYPE 14 CORRUGATEDSOLE PLANE 1929 - 1930
15\" long , 2-11/16 wide , cutter 2-1/4\" wide
U.S. PAT APR.19-10 behind frog
sweetheart cutter
work done
The body and frog were stripped then refinished. I use a superb finish which I apply many coats to get a very thick finish which is then baked on. Its a very durable finish.
All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. All tread holes are cleaned and oiled
The Rosewood Tote & knob are very nice. I did have to repair the tote its very solid. Both were cleaned and waxed several times to get a very smooth natural finish. some of the original Stanley sticker is still on the tote
The sole was lapped \"correctly\". All lapping is done by hand on a large granite slab.
Cheeks were lapped and the rail\'s were cleaned and smoothed out.
Frog face & seats lapped.
Cap iron was cleaned and lapped.
The Cutter was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cuts superb shavings leaving a very smooth finish on the wood surface.
The Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at its contact point.
This is excellent looking and a superb working plane that will be a asset to any shop or collection.
I have been selling my planes on for over 20 years and have always strived to put out a excellent plane at a very reasonableprice and back it with a \"\"\"\"100 percent satisfaction guarantee\"\"\"\". I go through each plane completely which most importantly includes lapping them \"correctly\" Using a belt sander is the quickest way to destroy a plane and just buffing the cheeks and sole to make them look good does absolutely nothing for a plane.
