Para 3 FRN Cobalt-Blue SPY27 Plain ultralight, compact version of the outstanding Para Military 2, one of E.D.C\'s finest. Clad in the elite Cobalt-Blue colour reserved for knives with the CPM SPY27 steel blade. Made in the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).

Spyderco has long been considered a leader in the use of exotic, high performance steels for knives. After years of using the best materials the leading steel manufacturers could provide, the company decided to create its own alloy. In collaboration with Crucible® Industries, it developed its own CPM SPY27 stainless steel, where SPY refers to Spyderco and 27 is the atomic number of cobalt (Co).

CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. It contains 1.4% carbon and 1% niobium (Nb), one of the best carofferes, which contributes to the wear resistance of the steel. Thanks to its properties, the steel retains its sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. Easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains 14% chromium. It provides good strength and edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. This unique steel is produced at Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) mills.

Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) a patented blade locking mechanism by Spyderco (made in USA). Extremely durable, provides extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it protects the knife from unintentional closing. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the path of the folding head.

Blade- laser cut with modified Clip Point profile, thickness 3.7 mm. Glare eliminating Satin Finish (semi matt). Plain blade with Full Flat Grind for increased cutting performance and reduced weight. Enlarged 14 mm round SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) for opening the knife even when gloved. Notched thumb rest, spine jimping and finger choil jimping, notched index finger rest between handle and cutting edge make the knife easy to use.

Handle - cobalt blue colour. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) material, it has a bi-directional non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing of the linings for excellent grip, even with greasy or wet hands. The ultralight construction of the handle linings and the open-backed design reduce the weight by almost 30 percent compared to a G-10 handle folder. A wire, screw-on clip (left/right) allows the knife to be carried in the tip-down position.
