This sale is for the Original First Editions of \" The Papers of Thomas Jefferson\"Nine Volumes. Julian P. Boyd, editor. Published by Princeton University Press, Princeton, New Jersey, published between 1951-1965. Hardcover with unclipped Dust Jackets, price on front flaps.All Dust Jackets are in new mylar covers. Black cloth with gilt lettering to the spines. 6 1/2 x 9 1/2\" tall.

The Papers of Thomas Jefferson is the definitive edition of the papers of the author of the Declaration of Independence, our nation’s third president. Begun in 1943 as the first modern historical documentary edition, the project includes not only the letters Jefferson wrote but also those he received. Julian P. Boyd, librarian, scholar of the Declaration of Independence, and first editor, designed an edition that would provide accurate texts with accompanying historical context. With the publication of the first volume in 1950 these volumes print, summarize, note, or otherwise account for virtually every document Jefferson wrote and received. Theseries is an unmatched source of scholarship on the nation\'s third president.

All Volumes are inVery Good condition with Good Dust Jackets. All Dust Jackets are in new mylar covers. Vols. 6 & 7 have cuts, Vol. 9 has a large tear, Vol. 10 has a small chip to the spine, Vol. 15 has a 1\" tear to the top edge. The boards are clean and tight. The corners and spine ends are clean and sharp. The binding and hinges are solid and tight.The pages are clean and unmarked. No torn or missing pages. An excellent addition to a library or collection.
