VERNONWARE ~ Vintage Ceramic COVERED BUTTER DISH (Hawaiian Coral) ~ USA
Description of item...Here we have a beautiful early MCM modelhand painted COVERED BUTTER DISH made by VERNONWARE (Metlox) of California in the "Hawaiian Coral" pattern displaying a border surround of brown, yellow and green sponged design on both the cover and dish.It measures approx. 8-3/4" long x 4" wide x 3" high.It is in good maintained (lightly used) condition with the exception of a tiny nick on the center dish area and some discoloration on the underside of the cover (can be seen on photos #5 or #6)...all of which are not offensive, nor obviously noticeable without close examination...priced accordingly. The bottom is very faintly marked, "UNDER GLAZE ~ HAND PAINTED ~ HAWAIIAN CORAL ~ VERNONWARE ~ CALIFORNIA U.S.A."Came from a private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown, pattern discontinued, production run 1952-1956. This item weighs approx. 1 lb., add 2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material. I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.[NOTE: I currently have other matching VERNONWARE "Hawaiian Coral" pieces on sale.]
