This medal is from a Carmelite Nun's pilgrimage to the1964 New York World's fair Vatican Pavilion. It is 1 in. diameter and weighs 7grams. The back reads as follows: around circle at top Vatican Pavilion (NewYork World's Fair, Inc.) and under that Catamore Sterling, then in the centerThe Pieta Medal. It is a beautiful depiction of Michelangelo's Pieta (Mary,Veneration of Mary in the Catholic Church Lamentation of Christ.).
