Queen of Bermudawas built byVickers-Armstrong Shipbuilders, and entered service in 1933, operating between New York City and Bermuda.[1]She was used in British government service during and following World War II, returning to her commercial sailings in 1949.[1]She continued in that capacity until November 1966, when Furness Bermuda ceased operations, and she was scrapped in Scotland the following month.[2]
Queen of Bermudameasured 22,501gross tons, and was 579 feet (176m) long, with a beam of 77 feet (23m).[1]She was powered by a steam turbo-electric propulsion systems, which drove four screws and gave her a service speed of 20 knots (23mph).[1]She had a capacity of 733 passengers, all in first class.
