This lovely vintage pottery tile piece is called "Sunflower Trio" and was made by Bennington Vermont Potters. It can be used as a trivet, wall decor, or both. It features three whimsical sunflowers with highly textured yellow petals, emerald green centers, and greenish brown stems and leaves. There are no chips or cracks, but the center part of each flower has some crazing or more probably just finished with a crackle glaze. I see a couple of small flea bites on the back but they appear to be due to the manufacturing process and not because of any damage. Overall this piece is very clean and pristine with no major signs of wear.
The back of the piece is unglazed and includes a metal loop for hanging on the wall. There are also four little divots, one in each corner, to accommodate little rubber or silicone "feet" to be applied for surface protection, whether it is used as a trivet or as wall decor.
It is backstamped with the "Bennington Vermont Potters" symbol along with the item number "*1576". It measures about 11.5 inches wide by 6.25 inches tall and is about 1/3" thick.
This is a great piece for any collector of Bennington Vermont Pottery, sunflowers, or boho style decor.
