RARE vintage (almost antique) Riley's Toffee tin commemorates the coronation of King Edward VIII. It is a special commemorative tin from Edward VIII's short reign before abdicating the crown in December, 1936, before his official scheduled coronation in May, 1937. Official preparations had begun and souvenirs were on sale from the time of Edward's ascension to the crown following the death of his father in January, 1936. Some were sold ... others were quickly replaced by souvenirs bearing the new King George VIII's image.
