Vintage Japanese Maiko Geisha Doll 1950’s Glass Case & Stand 20-3/4” Tall #3
This lovely Japanese doll in the glass case was purchased in the 1950’s while living in Japan. The Doll measures approx. 18-1/2” tall and weighs approx. 1 lb. 1 oz. The black lacquered stand measures approx. 5-7/8” x 7-1/8”. The fabric is beautifully tailored and in very good condition. There are 2 leaves that fell from the branch she is holding and are laying on the base.
The case is wood framed glass painted a deep red with a tassel pull to open it. The glass is quite thin and will take special care in packing to ship. The case measures approx. 20-3/4” tall x 13” wide x 10-1/4” deep. The doll and case weigh approx. 7 lbs. The back panel has a round window with wood cross pieces and a thin paper covering allowing light to highlight the doll. The back panel and bottom inside the case have a foil type covering—there are some scuff marks on the bottom. There are also some small scratches on the top front edge of the case and a paint to the left side of the tassel and on the back edge (additional photos provided upon request).
The figurine was displayed and enjoyed for many years in a smoke free environment then packed and stored. It is in very good condition. Please view the photos carefully before offerding.
