The Fringed Moth (Half Red Man)
This is a Navajo Indian sand painting of the fringed mouth. Made during the eight days, and nine nights, curative ceremony called \"The Night Way\" chant.
His head dress is of the red horse hair, and eagle feathers. Yellow chin line denote corn pollen path. A black basket, with ten red flicker bird tail feathers, surround the head.
White lightnings decorate the body, arms, and legs, for power and strength.
The arm streamers, wrist bands, knee garters, and sash are of the rainbows. Her moccasins are of the black clouds, with red streaks of the sunset rays.
In his right hand is a white gourd rattle, decorated with feathers, of an eagle, and a black turkey.
In his left hand is a bow, decorated with eagle tail feathers, and black turkey feathers.
A night rainbow garland, with feathers, surround the figure on three sides.
This painting is all hand done, out of pulverized natural colored sand stones, silicon, and mineral rocks.
