This handcrafted Santa or Grandfather Frost, as he is known in Russia, comes to you from the village of Sergiev Posad located outside Moscow. He is handcarved from the wood of the Linden tree and then hand painted. The process is a timely one since this wood must be dried for about 2 years before the artist can bewgin work. Each Grandfather Frost reflects Russian culture at its best.
