WWI SPECIAL CONSTABULARY LONG SERVICE MEDAL GEORGE V, WITH NAME, ERNEST R. GURNEY. This listing is fora British bronze medal on claw bar with ribbon. This medal comes with its original ribbon with outer edge white stripe, then a black stripe, (repeated on each side) and center wide red stripe(no top bar pin, held in place by staple). This bronze medal features a left facing profile with crowned head and shoulder of King George V in coronation robes, raised lettering around edge GEORGIUS V REX ET IND: IMP (George V King and Emperor of India). The reverse has raised lettering:For Faithful Service in the Special Constabulary, with laurel branch to the right. On the edge is the recipients name: Ernest R. Gurney. (The medal was instituted on August 30, 1919 to be awarded for 9 years unpaid service with more than 50 duties performed each year. The medal & ribbon measure approx. 3-1/4" long and the medal has a diameter of 1-3/8". Everythingis inVery Good Condition,andwhen item is packed SECURELY for shipping, the weight is5 ounces.
