View Larger Image   J.R. Reich Universal Surface Test Indicator   Description: This is a rarely seen machanical test indicator with the later patent in 1937. It is marked on the indicator "J.R. REICH MFG. CO. PATENTED DAYTON O PAT'D AUG.31-37 2091.376", and similar information on the inside cover of the included original box. The indicator has .001" graduations, and will indicate with presure applied to the bottom of top of the point. The graduations are on both side of the readout indicator lever, for better visibility. An adapter with a 1/8" shank size is also supplied, along with rectangular holder. There is a threaded screw to hold the adapter into the rectangular holder firmly. The box has been taped on the outside, but is solid, and has good marking inside, along with this, it has protected this indicator for many years. The indicator does work, but I am selling it as a collectible tool, as this style indicator works well, but needs constant care in cleaning and lubrication since the interior is somewhat exposed to shop dust.
