View Larger Image   Stanley No. 77 Mortise Gauge   Description: This is a quality made mortise, marking gauge that is not marked with the Stanley name, but is a Stanley made gauge. It is 7.5" long, has a total of 3 scibe point, one is adjustable via the end brass thumb screw. The main shaft is graduated by 16ths inch, from 0-3". It made of rosewood, with brass trim. It is complete with the brass pad under the slide thumb screw to protect the rosewood from damage when the screw is tightened. This gauge is nice, clean, no cracks or major chips, a few tiny dings, and minor wear on the slide on the opposite side of the brass inlaid plate, good threads, good points. There is a name and some intials from post owner's on this tool, otherwise in very good working condition, with very good steel scribes.
